Random Rant 01/06 2010
Hey peeps, Al here, happy to bring you another rant, filled with something else than vampires. Don’t get your hopes up, there may be vampire talk, just less… maybe.
So I have been reading a few books lately, and I’m gonna talk about them, for your reading pleasure. I will only talk about the last few I read (which now makes me realize I’m definately gonna be talking about vampires :P) cause my memory refuses to back any further, and even if it did, I don’t have the attention span to type all that up.
I read Mister B. Gone by Clive Barker which I thought was very good for a little book. Its pretty short read and great for when your travelling. As you all know, Clive Barker brought us the popular Hellraiser series. The story is about a demon’s travels out of hell and into our wondeful world filled with demon hunters, sad love intrests, and conflict between the forces of good and evil. The idea behind the conflict is an intresting one mind you, definately worth the short time it takes to read it. The interaction with the character in the book is good also, bringing a different level to this novel.
I also read The Strain co-authored by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan. This is the first in a trilogy, and will probably be movies after, considering Del Toro is the one that brought us Hellboy and Pan’s Labyrinth, which were both pretty awsome. The Devil’s Backbone was from Del Toro also, and I heard was really worth the watch but I haven’t gotten around to that quite yet (still haven’t watched Let the Right One In, but I bought it, and it’s on my viewing pile). So it’s a vampire book, a great vampire book. No lovey dovey nice candy cane vampires, just horrible life sucking parasites… the good stuff
I recommend this book to everyone and I also recommend telling anyone reading Twilight that Edward has cancer, thats why he glitters.
I recently finished, The Hiram Key : Pharaohs, Freemasons and the Discovery of the Secret Scroll of Jesus after readin the new Dan Brown book, which I wont review cause plenty of others did. I know what you guys are gonna say about Dan Brown, but I enjoy the read when I don’t feel like thinking and I just want to read an intresting story. I’m also a sucker for secret societies and the such, which falls right into Dan Brown’s Langdon trilogy- DaVinci Code, Angels and Demons, and The Lost Symbol. I highly recommend this book for the information inside, though unfortunately there has been so much controversy on the topic that many people discredit this book. I say read it, and draw your own conculsions afterwards. Some of it seems totally logical to me, while some parts I had trouble with.
This brings this rant to an end, due to lack of time at work, mainly, cause I really wanted to write more. Maybe I could shorten the time bteween my posts a little… that would be a good start
Stay dead readers!

I want this
Hey there Peeps,
So I’ve been tinkering with the Idea of switching 2 of my Characters to horde side for a bit now since Blizzard made Faction transfers available. Unfortunately this brings 2 of my best geared Toons away from the alliance. I don’t know how I feel about the transfer but I do have a rogue horde side and I see a lot more action happening through trade chat compared to alliance. For the moment I’m not in a guild or doing serious raiding so I’m sorta free from that guild trip of leaving something behind. I do miss raiding for the most part and there is very few semi raiding guilds looking for DPS to fill in some gaps alliance side. I’m thinking this might happen around late Oct maybe early Nov. since my comp sucks balls at the moment and I’ll have enough money on my Credit card to do this. I still plan to roll Worgen when Cataclysm arrives but I do miss raiding with a semi coherent group of people and I find that the Alliance on Vek is lacking severely in that category(No offence to Cohors members. Top raiding guild Ally side). Also we need moar post on WorldofWarcraft raiding perspective. Other members gogogogo post

Yeah it’s been a while, and here I am, back with a bunch of opinions no one cares about.
So… I heard there is going to be a Twilight MMORPG… ( http://www.geekologie.com/2009/08/teen_girls_gaming_twilight_mmo.php )
WTF is wrong with this world.
Who else here thinks they will just steal the gaming engine from Maple Story or Second Life, stick little icons over certain peoples heads, and release this into the unprotected teen world. Twilight is not worthy of a game like an MMORPG… maybe one of those old dating game telephones, but not an MMO.
Quest ideas for Twilight:
- Find something for Edward to feed off of that cant defend itself.
- Repeatedly smash an alley cat against a brick wall until it is limp and lifeless, then return it to Bella so she can make a puppet to distract Edward from wanting to have sex.
- File down your canines till they look like real teeth, so you wont be made fun of at school.
- Get Bella to the abortion clinic before she gives birth to the abomination she has been lugging around and trying to get popular with.
*sigh* Where is the Harry Potter MMO… which unfortunately now has a foot in the fucking door.
Ok, Im gonna fill you guys in on a secret. I hate Twilight like I hate everything else, except more.
So, why put a last name on your vampire? Is he going to say his name in school at attendance? Is he gonne be in roll call for gym class? *sigh* Im afraid for the futur in a world where its hard to be scared of anything… SO LEAVE MY VAMPIRES ALONE. What’s next, teenage zombie love stories? (anyone seen My Boyfriends Back?)
I think Im upset cause I could do a better job then the author of Twilight. Unfortunately, I dont have the time to spend writing cause I have two jobs. Raiding is a job right?

Welcome to the Gaming-Dead website ghouls and gheists.
This is Al, which probably won’t be my permenent screen name but whatever, posting to rant on a few things.
*takes a deep breath and pulls the trigger*
Ever notice how trendy it is to be dead now. I mean, horror movies have always had a following either for the gore or the cheap boob shots, but certain movies have been blurring the line and I really don’t think that’s a very good thing. Think back people… think back, wayyyyy back… knives for fingers… scary… bloody hockey masks… scary… creepy little brothers… scary… animated dolls… scary… ROMANCE VAMPIRES THAT WANT TO HAVE UNPROTECTED SEX WITH YOUR TEENAGE DAUGHTERS… FUCKING SAD!!!!
Creatures of the night are not after your panties little ones, rest assured. They want your life, your blood, your fear… maybe to a certain extent your Warcraft information… but it stops right there. The closest thing evil can come to romance is in the movie Slither, which was very funny (ok, now your all gonna complain about me saying horror was funny, but then Im ranting about it being romantic… WELL IT AIN’T THE SAME). Harry Potter Vampires…
Go rent Let The Right One In and talk to me about Vampires afterwards. I haven’t seen it myself, but I sure love to have opinions on everything
Also, I read alot from work, and comparing the many reviews I have read for each, my opinion stands. Im gonna watch it at some point… honest. Once I do, the world will know cause I won’t be able to shut up about it the first week
You know, now that I think of it, the only reason a vampire would want to be intrested in a girls sexual organs is for the free meal that comes once a month on tap. Hmmm… theres an intresting idea for a Vampire Bar… I can visualize the commercial now… Tired of chasing your meal around?… Want a effortless drink?… Come on down to It Ain’t Pure, but It’s Drinkable… Sometimes!
Good thing Im a zombie, or I wouldn’t have anything to blame how sad that last section was.
Seriously though, I can name a few vampire movies that where good ones, but the recent vampire drought has been a bit decieveing, and now its being filled with the watered-down version, which is stupid. We saw what kind of subtext there was between Louis and Claudia in Interview with a Vampire and noone liked it… Do you think it was the age difference… maybe, but who cares. The point is the only real action in that movie was between Louis and Lestat, and that was hinted as well, but not explored, thank god… It would have been Interview with the Brokeback Boys… with dead horses cause Louis would have drained them out of fear of enjoying human blood… sigh.
The other movie Im gonna mention is the Underworld series. I have not seen the third installment, and frankly, I don’t know if I should. In my experience, this series is like the Die Hard of vampire flicks. Its action packed, filled with beautiful people, and has a good budget for special effects. You know, if they where going to make a series, I vote re-making the interview with a vampire series with actors who aren’t too worried about thier image to do the whole series, cause as it stands Queen of the Damned was so awful it peeled the paint off my walls.
So what do we need now, to create balance… do we need a great underground vampire series that we can convert into film and butcher, or do we need a epic blockbuster coved in vampires, sci-fi and destruction? If we need the latter, Im working on a script
Now that I think of it, how come White Wolf never made a vampire movie… they have games, books, a role-playing system… seems like the next logical step no… for those who don’t know, White Wolf is to vampires what TSR is to Dungeon and Dragons.
*Jerks head away from the computer, smelling something yummy near by*
Lunch time for me. You know what being a zombie reminds me of, Pepe Lepew… your prey is always running, running, running… but no matter how fast they run, I can limp faster
